Leon Straker is a John Curtin Distinguished Professor of Physiotherapy, focussed on adolescent behaviour and health.
As the Scientific Director of the Raine Study, Leon has fostered longitudinal analysis of behaviour and health data across adolescence, specifically related to trajectories of obesity, physical activity and sedentary behaviours, mental health and musculoskeletal health. He has also led a family-based multi-disciplinary intervention for adolescents who are overweight or obese and led analysis of the work productivity costs of spinal pain and mental ill-health in young people.
Leon will provide support and guidance for data analysis and health pathways analysis in Pathways & Costs. As a member of the Active Healthy Kids Australia Executive, he will also be involved in the translation of WH&Y findings.
