Rebecca Ivers is Head, School of Public Health and Community Medicine, University of New South Wales, honorary Professorial Fellow at the George Institute for Global Health, and NHMRC Senior Research Fellow. Her research interests focus on the prevention of injury and trauma care, with a particular focus on inequalities in injury, and the prevention of injury in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Rebecca has led research investigating road crashes among young people, and on designing and testing programs to help young people get access to essential services like driver licensing.
Rebecca will contribute to WH&Y Stream 2: Pathways & Costs, looking at the role of risk-taking behaviours, and injury as well as better access to healthcare for young people at risk of injury.
