Melody Taba

About

Melody Taba is a Senior Research Officer at the University of Sydney’s Faculty of Medicine and Health at the Children’s Hospital Westmead.

Melody has a background in public health, completing her Master of Public Health in 2019 at UNSW, after achieving first class Honours at the University of Sydney in 2017. Her Honours thesis focused on the influence of social media relationship portrayals on adolescent relationship views. She presented these findings at the Australian Association for Adolescent Health’s 2018 Youth Health Conference.

Melody's research interests include understanding the role of digital practice and the online space on adolescent health and wellbeing. Research projects she is involved with include exploring young people’s social networks and the development of their sexual agency, assessing adolescent eHealth literacy and health searching strategies, as well as public health in-clinic vaccine studies.
