He/him/they
John studies a bachelor of business (Human Resource Management) at Western Sydney University. He sits on his campus provost committee, represents the WSU Solar car team in partnerships/alliance and is the previous treasurer of the debating team.
John became a WH&Y commissioner as someone with no health background or expertise. He wanted to help improve young men’s health, he previously worked in physical labour and recognised the negative health impacts that he experienced. The WH&Y has developed him into someone with a great understanding of what issues are impacting young people’s health and he gotten the opportunity to contribute to research.
He has a strong interest in technology, ethics and sustainable development, all areas that he got to learn about and now gets to contribute to in his work with the WH&Y commission. John believes that the culture of collaboration and co-creation that is encouraged by the WH&Y is the most respectful and appropriate way to engage with young people and champion the teenage decade.
